Hello! Welcome to Chalk-Ah-Lot Cafes First Blog Hop! Feb 28th - March 1st That gives you 3 days to play!

Day 1 means 1st of 3 projects for this 3 day hop....

So for todays project I did a simple and easy card...

I have named it

Footprints in the Sand....heehee

real original I know...haha

I used the foot stamps from Stamp N Plus Scrap N web store... oh so cute...I stamped the image in a brown and then took Teaddy Bear colored Powdered Chalk by Chalk Ah Lot Cafe Chalk Store that sponsers our Chalk Ah Lot Weekly Challenge Site and rubbed it with a cotton ball and/or a fluffy paint brush, I like to do both to get a good background...I think it looks like the feet are in sand...so I found the poem 'Foot Prints In The Sand' on the internet and printed it out... cut it to size ... added the little feet in the blocks and there you have a wonderful easy card for someone that needs a 'pick me up'...

oh and I also ink'd the edges with a brown ink on all the parts ...

I like to do that on almost all of my projects...as you already know... lol...

I love how this turned out... it's maybe my best card to date...lol...

to me March means Spring and where I live Spring = Wind

I live in a very Windy area Arizona...

It can be a beautiful day and the next day...

well we have to pick up our lost items in Albuquerque, NM...heehee

No really its that windy here...

Well enough of that...

this week I came up with a card to share with you...

March also reminds me of money, I guess with all the green, I think of money...don't really know why but that's what came to mind...lol...

Well with this I used my Cameo print and cut option, I am not sure if you can see that there is a ribbon peeking out of the sides of the pop dotted LUCKY...kind of hard to see that... the cute flower made me think of a sunshine...and I just love this tree...so fun yet simple...

I hope you enjoyed this weeks project, and I KNOW that the other design team members came up with some REALLY cute projects... there is one that I just NEED to know how to make it...so maybe some time I will use it...

Chalk Ah Lot Cafe Challenge - Chalk as a Background

Today I have for you a card, I used a cloud template and the sky color chalk, to create these great fluffy clouds and sky... heehee... I just love this technique...so easy to make such a cool statement... you can buy the cloud template and this cute little stamp, hanging out the laundry from Stamp N Plus Scrap N (look under the Accessories for the template) and you can find all kinds of fun stamps to play with there too...

Not much to this card, but I am sure you can find lots more great ideas for the Chalk Ah Lot Cafe Challenge and from the other design team members blogs. Be sure to leave them some love too...

Mardi Gras Parade Blog Hop

Welcome to our Mardi Gras parade.

I must warn you though while you may enjoy jumping up to catch beads, doubloons, cups, stuffed animals--whatever! Please yell at the float riders "Throw me something, Mister!" Bring a large, sturdy plastic or cloth bag to hold all the treasure you'll be catching - if you try to put all of your beads around your neck, you'll have a hard time standing up straight! Be prepared: some people get so overcome with excitement they will occasionally jump in front of you to grab what a rider has thrown to you. Don't get into a tug-o-war....there are many more floats on the way! If you're from far away, some visitors hold up a sign saying where they are from.. our local riders love to see people from far away have a good time and will throw to them to make sure they do! The colors of Mardi Gras are: Purple which represents justice; Green which represents faith; and Gold which represents power.Mardi Gras is always held the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. Mardi Gras is music, parades, picnics, floats, excitement ... and one big holiday in New Orleans! Everyone is wearing purple, green, and gold; and adorned with long beads caught from the beautiful floats. They sit on the ground throwing balls, playing music, having a picnic, and watching the crowds walk by between parades. Instead of beads, coconuts (which apparently is the most prized throw from floats) and other baubles, we have a great sponsor:

I used the doily and then did a shadow in Silhouette Designer Edition to create the back ground and used a basic shape to create the yellow circle.... I used a stamp from Stamp N Plus Scrap N for the sentiment...

simple as that...

oh yeah, I was at the dollar store and I saw these beads

and knew I had to have them for this project...

I think it added a great touch...

This week @ MyGrafico Challenge Blog ...

We have a CHALLENGE this week

Sanqunetti Design

Is this just not the most beautiful elements for spring...

It made me think of all the beautiful things of Spring...

then I thought of the great friend of Allergies...lol...

so for this week I made this awesome tissue box cover

I cut the box and lid with my Cameo...then the sides with the elements, I imported the image to Silhouette Designer Edition and did the print and cut thing...but I guess since its just a few squares you could always just print them on paper and do it that way...what was I thinking, doing it the hard way...I added the flower and some bling to make it just a bit more colorful...

I used all kinds of things to color this, in fact the purple butterfly you see right here is colored in using Versa Marker pen and adding Chalk Ah Lot Powered Chalk...oh I love how that turned out... the other colors I used markers and colored pencils with a blending pen...I love that too...but my fav it the butterfly...

Chalk Ah Lot Cafe Challenge - Chalk as a Background

This weeks Challenge @ Chalk Ah Lot Cafe is ..... Chalk as a background....

I wanted to share with you this week a little love for my country...I found this stamp at the Stamp N Plus Scrap N web store, and just knew that I would find a good use for it... I used Powered Chalk to create the background of the card...then stamped the image over the chalk...then used a little bit of yellow to add to the mix...I also used my Cameo to cut the star using yellow paper...pop dotted my star on and there you have it... The chalk colors I used this week were .... Dizzy & Red .... I used Archival Ink, Jet Black to stamp the image...

I hope you love our country as much as I do....

May God Bless all our Men and Women of the armed forces, that they all may come home soon...

So my project is a Lantern from SVGCuts Crisp Days of Fall SVG Kit

I added my own touch to the lantern by adding My Family ... I added some twine to the project...

Oh and I used LOTS of Powdered Chalk from Chalk Ah Lot, the colors I used were Velvet and Sunshine...I used white card stock and did not like the look, so I used the chalk to give it some color...

I used another file from SVGCuts, Chamomile Friendship Cards for the fence and the flowers..

Now I know alot of us feel like our family is who lights up our lives....but my dear husband has been by my side thru thick and thin, I am not the easiest wife...I had lots of baggage from a prior 'life'...and now Josh and I were set up on a blind date...and the sun has never shined so bright in my life since...I have a beautiful daughter and step son and step daughter...I have a home full of love...that's what lights up my life...

It's a challenge week on the MyGrafico Challenge blog...

MyGrafico Vintage Labels

Here is my card for this weeks challenge....
I just love how it turned out...but the poem by Dr. Seuss is really hard to read... :~( so here it is....

You know your in love
when you can't fall asleep
because reality is finally better
than your dreams...Dr. Seuss

This card was made using the Print and Cut option with my Cameo...I imported the Vintage Labels ... then I typed the great poem from Dr. Seuss....

I then printed the project and also made a the heart and the xoxo in the same color before I printed it...that way everything was the same color pink.... I then used the Stardust chalk from Chalk Ah Lot and some water in a 2oz spray bottle mixed really good...then sprayed it to make it 'shine'!!!!!

I hope you like this weeks project....

most importantly I hope you choose to make something fun....something to challenge yourself and post it on the Challenge blog...

Not just a card ...

The Luv Bug card does not quite go in the challenge but I had to make a card with that stamp before valentines day was over...so I put that together....and love how it turned out... I used the Stardust and water spray to make it shine...

But 2 cards...

Now the bunny butts...well they are just adorable...and the sentiment falls right in to place for the challenge...I used the chalk to color the bunnies brown...and added some blue sky/clouds to make it come together....

MyGrafico Monday!!! Fairy or Girl Lets go Green...

When I was coloring this green fairy...I thought of the 3 R's

Addicted to the Powered chalk, I used that and water color pencils and a blender pen...
Cut this cut little sun with the cameo
Put some ink on the edges and mounted it to a green paper...wha la...there you have a simple card for a simple little fairy...

Chalk Ah Lot Cafe DT Project ~ Sentiment

Hey everyone...this post is a bit late...but better late then never...lol...

no really I am so excited to tell you my news that I just don't know how to put it into words...

about a 1 1/2 weeks ago, I was on Facebook when the

design team coordinator for Chalk Ah Lot Cafe

PM'd me and asked me to join her team at the

Chalk Ah Lot Cafe.... it's a Challenge blog using

Powdered Chalks

and using stamps from

Stamp N Plus Scrap N

So I could not pass up what a wonderful opportunity and kudos to me...

so with that then next thing I knew was I had this box on my door step...

OMG!!! HOW FUN!!!

I ALWAYS love mail...not bills...but fun mail...

and I opened it up and thought Christmas and Birthday was already over for this year...

but it was true, I got a HUGE start up kit from Chalk Ah Lot Cafe & Stamp N Plus Scrap N

I had picked out 12 different stamps and this is what I got... I got not only the 12 stamps but this HUGE kit of goodies to use for my design team assignment...

I got over 25 stamps...47 different powdered chalks...4 acrylic blocks all different sizes...some really neat Buzz N Magic paint... a fun feather pen ( to clean the work area off when done) oh yeah some really neat templates... this company and LuAnn are going to be great to work with ... I could not be more happy to represent such a cool stamp and chalk company...

Now for the Challenge card...we were challenged by using a sentiment....and as I had said before...I make cards for this company ... so you will see more cards on my blog...but I will continue to do my love and passion of 3D paper crafting...I just now have all kinds of goodies to work with now...

With this card there were 2 different ways of using the chalk...Direct to the paper and Versa Mark stamp covered by the Powered Chalk

So for my card I used versa mark to stamp the sentiment and covered it with Blush chalk...then I used the cloud template that came with the kit to make the clouds using Sky and Dizzy Chalk... the sun has chalks Dandy and Sunshine....the grass is the same way ... 2 chalks Lime and Cool Green... added 3 flower brads and drew in the stems with a sharpie and added the frog button...I mounted this on a dark blue back ground and added some pink ric-rack...I love using all kinds of thing when creating card fronts...not all the chalks need a fixative as most have it in it...but I used some cheap aerosol hair spray to make sure to keep it all in place...

So with that... I encourage...no challenge you to make a card with a sentiment using this totally awesome powered chalk...and enter it in the Chalk Ah Lot Cafe Challenge page....

I don't want you to miss a single spring project and want you to start at the beginning of spring at Kimberly. I can hardly believe I have been blogging and showcasing my crafts for a year now!!! I've grown just like spring and learned so much as I have traveled the crafting path. I am sure you will be as impressed with the talent from these crafters as I am.

Today I have for you an altered project...

I took a 1 subject Notebook (can be any brand or size) this one is 10.5 x 5 70 sheets college ruled. I cut with my Cameo a piece of plain white card stock and the same size with the floral paper...I just did not want the black and the letters to show thru the paper...I used Heat'n Bond and a hot iron to bond these papers together and to the front of the notebook... I then used the Cameo to create these great rosettes...found from the Silhouette store...I re sized them all different sizes...oh and yeah they can't go too big...lol...found that out the hard way...then I added a little bling to the center of each of the rosettes and some ribbon...

pretty simple and easy peasy...

I hope you have enjoyed this project...kind of simple and plain but fun to give to that someone that just needs a 'pick me up'...what a wonderful way to brighten someones day... :~)

MyGrafico Monday ~ Feature File ~ Penguin

It' Monday again...with that I get to share with you another MyGrafico project.

This weeks feature file was to use a penguin...

Today's Feature File...

and well with my new design team assignment, I am working on the skill of cards...lol...being a 3D paper crafter now to doing cards...we you might see more cards from me in the future... well anyway this week I used the Print and Cut feature with my Cameo.

Then I used some watercolor pencils and a blender pen to color in the cute little birdie...

I learned this new bow/ribbon thing at the last make and take I went to a couple of weeks ago...I just love going to these things as I learn new things...not always do I remember how to do it ... but this time I did... oh and I did do some heat embossing on this cute little critter....

My Big Announcement!!!!

Ok, I have kept you waiting long enough...lol...only if you follow me on my face book will you see that I have accepted a position on the Design Team for Chalk~Ah~Lot Cafe.. I will be using rubber stamps from the Stamp N Plus Scrap N and most importantly the Chalks from Chalk Ah Lot ... I really am nervous about this new design team because it requires me to do cards...and well as you know I am a 3D paper crafter but when the Design Team coordinator invited me to this design team...well I was beside myself and just could not hold back...so....here I am ... a new member of the Chalk Board...lol...

Sanqunetti Design Tickets Galore

OK so I will admit, this file was a challenge for me...but I got it together and came up with this fun little invite.

Well, I think I even followed the directions WRONG!!! lol...well I can't do it right all the time... This is a Challenge Week for the Design Team...so pull it together and make something

*** Side note: I have this great Stamp'n Up demonstrator that has come up with this new class she will be offering each month, in addition to the monthly Card making club she does...OMG she is amazing...any way... this new class is going to be a small group of participants that get together to learn a new Technique or to use and new tool...she has it set up so that we will be able to practice the new tool or technique then once we have on the looks good enough for reference we will put that on a note card that will have the directions or such on it...this way we can remember how to use it or do it...then we make a card with that tool or technique to have to do whatever with...I think this is be a fun class...she says it should be a kind of 'challenging' class or an advanced class but oh do I look forward to the first on ... its going to be on Feb. 4, 2011...so I hope that I can learn some new things and bring them to my crafts...

Well with that...here is my take on a Ticket ... an Invite to the "TNT" class... looks fun huh....

I did not want to use all of her information, well cuz I did not have it all...lol...but you get the idea in it...right? heehee...

How To Stay Young...

I have a dear friend that I met online on a forum a while back...we have since met up and 'played' well really crafted together...She has really become a dear friend to me...she just sent this email to me...and I had to share it with you all...

Just a little inspiration for your day!!!

We all need to read this one over and over until it becomes part of who we are!

1. Try everything twice. On Madams tombstone (of Whelan's and Madam) she said she wanted this epitaph: Tried everything twice...loved it both times!

2. Keep only cheerful friends.

The grouches pull you down. (keep this in mind if you are one of those grouches;)

3. Keep learning : Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain get idle. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And the devil's name is Alzheimer's!

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath. And if you have a friend who makes you laugh, spend lots and lots of time with HIM/HER.

6. The tears happen: Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. LIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love: Whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county, to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity. I love you, my special friend.

I made this card using different files from none other than SVGCuts.com I used the lever card from the Winters Chill SVG Kit. and a few of the FREEBIES that Mary and Leo have to offer...SVGCuts gives a freebie each week that they post a new set...its so much fun....the latest set they put out is so much fun...It has 24 different SIMPLE valentine cards to make...go check it out... I think in the next day or two they should be posting a new set...and when they do ... well you know me... I have to have it... so stay tuned to my next new SVGCuts project that I make...lol...

Hey blogger friends...sorry for the delayed post...I have the day off work ... so I did not even think that today was Monday with MyGrafico...

Feature File

My project today is pretty simple... I used the Sweetness Collection from Cheri Wenger...how cool is that my designer and I have the same last name...

Anyway... I used this cute cracker box thing from the stash of .svg files I have...(sorry to the creator that I don't remember who I got it from...)

I added the Lips, again an .svg file from my stash, I made sure to have them look like lips with lip gloss by heat embossing some Kaleidoscope Transparent embossing powder by Stampendous!

some ribbon from the stash to close it up...and wah la...there you have this cute little box to put some candy or something fun in to give as a great quick and easy valentine!!!

and this is what I came up with...

I also learned in the last few weeks how to make my 'signature' and dt badge into a Photoshop brush...this makes it so much quicker for me to add these to my pictures...

Project #1
Well, what my boy is made of is GAMES!!! football, baseball, basketball, Xbox, WII, PS3... you name it game and he is a part of it... so for my 1st project I used The Green Room SVG Kit and made this great little box...

I used my Cameo, SVGCuts file, AC Card stock, some pop dots and ink to create this little box... oh I just love how it turned out... you will have to buy this file from SVGCuts.com, for sure now...

Project #2

When I think of my son... I also think of some of his achievements that he has made...recently he was inducted to the National Honor Society. wow...how cool is that... so for my next project I made a shadow box for him to always remember that 'He Can Do It'...

For this project, I used an 8 X 10 shadow box. AC Card stock, Black Vinyl, pop dots and of course the beautiful Award held in with a brad... so I had to make it so he could get to it so I hid the ribbon that goes around his neck behind the picture (it has LOTS of pop dots but you can't tell in the picture)...oh well, he likes it and for him to like my creations, well that's just a teenage boy...

I used DCWV paper

and just plain old card stock for the other parts...

Oh but the 'Be Mine' is vinyl, (vinyl is great for this application...)

Another Snowmen(woman) - with a twist

Not alot to say this morning ... just wanted to share this little box ... well ... snowman container that could hold just about anything, small ... some candy on my desk is what I have plans for it ... for now anyway...

It's a Snowball of Fun!

Good Morning Crafty World!!! This weeks SVGAttic Design Team project that I put together was used as my gift exchange at work...

So this year for a gift exchange I decided to put together

these little boxes and have a snowball in each box.

I used the SVGAttic 'Holly's Holiday Gift Boxes' Set

and the SVGAttic ' Build a Snowman' SVG Collection

I made white fudge into BIG balls, well then ate them

so I had to come up with something new...lol...

The final 'snowball' was a .....

Giant CAKE BALL!!

Ingredients

1 (18.25 ounce) package chocolate cake mix

1 (16 ounce) container prepared chocolate frosting

1 (3 ounce) bar chocolate flavored confectioners coating

Directions

1. Prepare the cake mix according to package directions using any of the recommended pan sizes. When cake is done, crumble while warm into a large bowl, and stir in the frosting until well blended.

2. Melt chocolate coating in a glass bowl in the microwave, or in a metal bowl over a pan of simmering water, stirring occasionally until smooth.

3. Use a melon baller or small scoop to form balls of the chocolate cake mixture. Dip the balls in chocolate using a toothpick or fork to hold them. Place on waxed paper to set.

As you can see I used white candy making coating on the outside just so it would be white...I have made these before with the chocolate flavored coating...and it was much better, but it served it's purpose, and I really like how they all turned out...oh and the white fudge was incredible...lol...this is the recipe I used but I put in just about a half cup of walnuts and it was still really good...I just could not get it to form into a ball really well without working it...ALOT...so the cake balls were my first choice anyway....and the kids still liked them, so they were eatable...

What made this project so fun was that as I was making each of these boxes and each of the snowmen/women...I was thinking about each of the coworkers that were getting them...they took some time to make just because I wanted each of them to represent each of the people that were getting them...but the boxes itself was way easy and fun, and even the snowmen went together well ... it's just that I took time for each of them so I could have lots of thought and love into each one of them. As my coworkers are more like family then they are coworkers...we have a small office and we get along well, for the most part...

The 2nd project that I put together was just a little New Years Party Pack...

How fun will this be posted at my workstation?

Some 2012 glasses and a table center piece and well a really cool banner...so fun...so easy...and such a bad background on the picture, I should have ironed the darn thing...lol...but the glasses are just perfect fit for just about anyone...I love them...used transparency film for the lens and plain black card stock and some blue glitter card stock from ColorBok (sold at Walmart a while back) I just love this card stock called Pearlescent Paper, it came with a hot pink, yellow, lime green, this blue that I used and a purple...and being the paper hoarder that I am ... I just hate to use the last piece, but good think there were 4 pages of each color and I had 2 left...lol...now I am down to my last blue...oh well .... the project was just perfect with this card stock. Oh and I forgot to mention I also used Pearls paper by Core'dinations Cardmakers Series...and just a small part of velum for the 'liquid' in the glasses...all that detail is hard to see but it's there...heehee....

Well off to work I go...Hope everyone is ready for the New Year...I know that 2011 was not the greatest year for me in many ways, so I am looking forward to a new start with 2012...

It's a Cold Winter!!!!

Ok, so I got some time to make something special for a friend of ours. I used the Winter's Chill SVG Kit from SVGCuts.com. So it took me a few tries to get it right, but I really like the way it turned out...

I also made the fun never ending, double sliding card from Lori Whitlock. Lori designs for Silhouette America. I just love that I can buy 1 file for .99 from the online store for the Silhouette Program that I use with my Cameo... I thought that if I bought the Designer Edition that it would knock my socks off. As that it has the ability to read .svg files....and with all the SVGCuts.com files that I own, this was very important for me to be able to cut these many files. Also being a Designer for SVGAttic.com I HAD to have all the possible ways to cut with my Cameo...Now the SCAL3 is ok but it still has some bugs to work out...I keep checking to see if its working as well as the Silhouette Designer Edition, but with both I get the job done...

Ok enough of the talk/typing....

Jessica over at SVGAttic.com crated this wonderful and easy set... I used the O Christmas Tree Set & the Cozy Christmas Captions to create this wonderful gift card holder...

I don't think anyone can have too many gift card holder, they make such great gifts all year round. And this file that was used can be made for just about anything, any colors and any title...

How fun is that?

This week I used the Stop N Shop SVG Collection & the Santa's Little Helpers ....
I always like to find ways to re purpose files...this way you can learn how to use files in different applications.

This was made with AC Card stock, some white rick-rack, candy canes, used some DCWV patterned papers. I covered some hot chocolate pouches and in they went...What a great and simple gift...hope the receiver of this gift likes it...lol...most of all I hope I inspired someone to re purpose their files...

So some last minute crafting for gifts... I used the Christmas Friends Clip Art

To print and cut these great little gift bags full of Christmas goodies...

So Easy!!!

Print the Clip Art on some card stock...

Remember if you want it front and back that you put your images facing different directions...so when you fold the long strip of paper(at whatever size you choose, I made mine using the full length of an 8 1/5 x 11 sheet of card stock, I was only able to get 1 bag out of each page, but I wanted it wider)

Then cut a top accent color card stock

Punch 2 holes to tie the ribbon through...

Whala you have a little gift bag thing...

Add a tag and you are set for the last minute gifts for the class mates...

easy enough you can have your little ones help with this one...

You don't even have to have many supplies either...

Printed Card stock

Plain Colored Card stock, to coordinate

I cannot tell you how excited I am to become a design team member for this great company...Jessica Bradshaw is amazing. She is so creative with her files.

Well with that ... I will be posting a project EVERY Tuesday for this design team...

Some Questions To Answer...

Earlier today I posted a picture of my pie and it's pie box on my facebook page... I had someone ask what size I cut the project out at...

Well with my new cutter, Cameo by Silhouette, and using SCAL3...I imported everything as I always do, and well I thought that it was importing at the created file size...Well I cut and put together all 8 pieces of the pie and then I went to cut the pie box out, it was at this time, I realized that SCAL3 does NOT import your SVG's to the size that the SVG creator set it at...Well like in SCAL2 I NEVER remember having to size any of Mary's files from SVGCUTS.com to anything other than what it imported at...Well with SCAL3 I did not know this...Long story short ... the size of pie pieces are at 4 inches and the pie box is at 8.5 inches ( I think anyway, as I am not currently home to check the sizes right now but I wanted to get the info out to you asap)...

So if you are working in SCAL3 just beware that your projects might not import at the 'right' size...if there is such a thing as 'right' size...but if you are doing other projects like the pie and the pie box, just be sure to size them to what you want...I hope this makes since?

Oh, and yeah it's been some time since I posted anything about my Arizona State Fair projects that I submitted...well I will have pictures on Monday or Tuesday...but I wanted to share with you .... I got a 1st place Blue Ribbon for my Gingerbread House that is a gift box... it is made from the Peony Cottage file from SVGCUTS.com, inside it contains a led tea light so that you have a lantern after you back the cookies using the enclosed cookie mix and cookie cutter with the and some sprinkels to decorate the cookies... Oh what fun that is going to be to give as a gift... I wonder who will get my Blue Ribbon Holiday Gift package? decsions, decsions...lol...
I better get back to what I am up too...I will share more later, after work today...

Spirits of Christmas Past by SVGCUTS.com

WOW, the new set that Mary came out with late last night is so AWESOME!!! it's called Spirits of Christmas Past. I was so fun to make this little book/box. It looks like a book but it has a slide out match box type gift box...It's easy and fun and pretty fast...
The picture is not good at all..I used some Tim Holtz papers, very non traditional colors and made it a bit Victorian... but I like it...I just wish I had the energy to get up and take better pictures...lol...

I used my Cameo, what else is there...lol...I got to put a cute little paper doll on the front...

It was just a jpeg that I had...I used the Free Silhouette program to do the print and cut, just cuz I am having better luck with that and the Cameo right now...I just might have to upgrade that to the Designer Program. I think it would be a good addition to my crafting abilities...but for now the free program and SCAL3 will work just fine!!!!

My Cameo's first cuts!!!

EEKS!!!

It's here...I got my Cameo yesterday.... I did a few print and cut objects....

I love it so far... It makes great cuts, very clean and easy to remove from the mat...

well here you go!!!! Check it out !!!

Oh and I got it on O.co for a VERY reasonable price... less then what is being advertised for sure...

This is how well its packed in there...It's alot lighter then the Expression and looks so cool
in my crafting area...she found her home real quick...booted the Expression right out of the house...

Here it the messy crafting area I work in...lol..no really I printed on my wonderful printer the image that
I created in the Silhouette software, but plan on using SCAL3 for most of my projects...but the first
print and cuts were better with the Silhouette program then SCAL3 but I only did a few cuts...
so I am certain that SCAL3 can do it too...just need to tweak it a bit...

set it up.... and cut some stuff....

Here I am being very careful as to not rip the whiskers off !!!

Yes they cut just perfect!!!!

OMG I am in love ... all over again!!!

Good Monday, this week we had some clip are to work with...

DreAmLoft Love Bus Clip Art

I took this clip art and printed on to some card stock, then used my cutter to cut out a match box file...Added some Kleenex ... and there you have a 'Feelin' Groovy' get well gift... Pretty simple but fun...as some gems and some glitter glue to dress it up... and well you can see for your self...

Now be sure to hop on over to the other Design Team Members blogs' and see what kind of creations they came up with using the same clip art...I saw an altered project...looks pretty cool...so take the time to click on the right side bar for each of the other DT members...

Oh, this is a happy day for Katie (ME)... it started out as a very sad story about O.co selling out before I could push the pay now button...it was in my cart and I had to log on ... by that time ... it was sold out ... but I did do a remind me if this product comes back in stock...well, and it did...can you guess what I got?

hint: It's my next 3 (4) Gifting celebration days... Birthday, Christmas and 7th Anniversary oh and my 5th year at work celebration... oh so excited!!!

So I have been madly working on getting some Christmas decor up and this is a great start...SVGcuts cam out with this AMAZING set that has the Alpha in 3D...and it's BIG 3D...these letters measure about 6.5 inches...I just love them, but not to say the 'C' was pretty challenging...but I got through it and now look at what I have made...I just could not think of doing EACH letter...I might after I have nothing else to do...oh yeah RIGHT...Christmas is coming and I have tons to do...so here you go ....

It's by far NOT the best photo I have taken but I wanted to show it off as soon as I got it done...I like the 'M' but they look ok to me...

I just fell in love with this kit...it has so many options including a scrapbook page...oooohhh do I need to get to scrap'n some pages here soon...

Well, it's a cold and rainy day here in Holbrook, I just wish I could stay home and craft and bake ... but work is calling...so I must go for now...

Wow, I have jumped into the world of digi stamps and I am starting to like them more and more...svgs are still my favorite.. but soon I hope to have the best of BOTH worlds...until then this is what I made using this file:

Got some new toys...

Oh, I am so excited to play with my new toys...I got them for hosting a Stamp'n Up workshop...it's really easy what we do in this area...We have a great gal that is the 'demonstrator' for Stamp'n Up and she makes up 4 cards each month, and there is a list of peps that all come each month to play in the fun...In fact my friend, Linda from St. Johns Az came to the last workshop and played with us...anyway these peps have been getting together for years and doing this so when I host one of these workshops it just a matter of bringing some food and a wish list of products...and wah lah, I got $50 in hostess money to spend...And I spent it ALL...

I got some blender pens, some watercolor pencils, a new embossing folder and 2 new Hostess only Digital file CD's...OMG am I excited for this...I just can't wait to get started..so off crafting I go...

Oh and yeah I do have Monday's project for the MyGrafico design team completed and oh I just want to show you now .... but you will have to hop back by on Monday to check it out...

Sorry for no post yesterday...I just could not get my DT project done for the week. Well, I really wanted to say Hi and I wanted to ask a quick question....

I get alot of hits on my stats that says my Photo Studio post is pretty popular, now why can no one leave love and tell me what they think? I just don't get it..oh well not for me to get...

I have already completed 2 more DT for MyGrafico projects for the future, and can I just pat my own back...they turned out so cool...both are digi files and you know that I am new to that. So you will just have to wait and see when they get posted...

Happy November everyone!!! Halloween was such fun this year, with all the projects I did, it made it so fun to share. But when it was time for trick or treaters', I turned out my lights and watched the new Fox tv show Taranova (sorry don't remember how to spell it), but anyway I am addicted..you might check it out...It's just before House...

Hey ya all, I just wanted to share with you some of the projects I have been working on... I am a host of a stamp'n up workshop later today. I wanted to give some door prizes out (what a good idea to get rid of some of my projects, right? lol ) so anyway I have wrapped about 6 bags of candies with these great files from where else than SVGCUTS.com ... I used the Party on Elm Street and Caramel Apple Pie SVG Kit to create most of these goodies. Well I am sure you want to see pictures so here they are...

With all that, I think I better get some sleep before I have to get up and do just a few more things...I could keep going for hours, I just love SVGCUTS.com files... There is a new FREE set and it's Christmas... OMG its already for that again...

Oh yeah I also got a chance to use the stampables from Punkin Patch Stamps, yeah one of those 'had to have' kind of things...I really like the stamps.. I can see me buying more in the future, and I am not a big stamp crafter, but I like the words a phrases they have put together... and then added a svg cut to use ... I cut the paper then I was able to use a clear stamp block to see the cut image and stamp right there... awsome!!!

I know I say that every Monday, but it's going to be a good week...

Getting ready for all those little trick or treader's...oh and I live in da'Hood of Holbrook, so I don't get many kiddos. I guess that can be a good thing, cuz otherwise I would have to start these little treats 2 years in advance (well in the last house I lived in anyway)

So this weeks DT Challenge is to use this SVG file, and you all should know by now this is my favorite type of file that I can work with, I am starting to like the digi world but it's taking sometime to learn when I am doing it all on my own...oh and with CS5 Photoshop...

So fun and So easy... used some Shapes from the Shapes Library in SCAL2, to create the eye's, nose and mouth cut in black...Used the handy Crop-A-Dial and some ribbon and green pipe cleaners... some added touches with some black pen and white gel writer...
Added some candy and wha'la there you have a great little gift/treat bag...

Halloween Goodies

Hey, I have something fun to post...and can you guess what it is? heehee

Oh yeah you know it...It's a new file from SVGCUTS.com (where else)

It is so much fun to make these little treats, the only think that I have found to be a problem, is that the open path in my SCAL2 is not working... If any of my followers knows what I am doing wrong. Pah Pah Pah Please let me know so that I can do it the easier way(the way it's laid out in the file by Mary and Leo)

I know HOW CUTE are these? It's the mini candy bars with wrappers and a topping... then I added the great old fashion Tissue paper Sucker Ghosts...I was really amazed the other day when I showed my co-worker the ghosts and she had NEVER seen that before.

So if you are one of those peps...here is how its done...

You get any round sucker (I used the mini TootisePops) and cut squares of either tissue paper of even facial tissue if you want (it's already cut for you) put the sucker in the middle and pull it over the top... Then I used baby hair elastics, that's what I had on hand, I later got some clear/white ones and they look about the same, I cannot decide if I like the black over the clear but if you see in the 2nd picture the ghost to the far right has a clear one and the ghost in the picture on the left has the black one... you choose... and let me know which one you think looks better...

I used the Party on Elm Street SVG Kit for this project... I even made the very cute cauldron but I forgot to get pictures before I took it to work...duh how silly is that, make something and not show it off on my Blog, what was I even thinking...lol

I even ordered some stamps for the newest company that Mary and Leo has started Pumkin' Patch Stamps and if you act now the This Link takes you to a FREE set of svg's for the Trick or Treat Stamp Set , and you bet your booty that I set myself up on that one too!! but I just could not stop there I just 'had to' have more ... I felt bad getting so much from Mary and Leo for FREE,

I just wanted to say 'Hi' to you all...

I don't have much to say but I would like to show you a few things that I made using SVGCUTS.com files, OMG they are just amazing!!! Leo and Mary, the everything they are, good customer service, great files, oh I just could go on for days, but I will spare you, cuz if you have had chance to use their files you know what I am talking about...

Oh well crap...I was going to show you the cute candies that I made and took a picture of before work this morning but my puter is having difficulties...so no pictures of that....I will have to share those later...

Oh and the State Fair photos are also too big to share, I need to edit them too...

Oh I guess this means I have to do some crafting til the hubby can get my puter back to normal, if there is such a thing when you have a computer geek for a husband(and would have no one else in his place, he is the worlds greatest)

Well, I guess I will just have to keep you all in some more suspense with my State Fair Projects...Ok, so I did get 1 Honorable Mention ribbon, and a 4th place and a 3rd place and a ....... yeah I got a 1st place blue ribbon on this....

This is the Picture taken at the Navajo Co. Fair, that I later sent to the Arizona State Fair and got a Blue ribbon...how cool is that?
If you did not know already it the Gingerbread house that is mine, not the bunny....lol

So I will get my hubby to work on my computer tomorrow I hope then I promise to post more pictures soon...

I Have been a bit quiet!! but a New MyGrafico Project anyway!!!

Hey, I have been a bit quiet lately sorry... Life is getting in the way of my crafting... but I still have an obligation for MyGrafico. So with that being said, I love my obligation, but some of them are really challenging to get something out, but yet they give me plenty of time to do each project. Well anyway Blah blah blah, you want to me to get down to the project for this weeks Challenge 113 Baby Shower...

New Design Team Project For MyGrafico...

I know, I know, I have been a bit quiet, and I know I say that ALLOT, but it's been crazy... My hubby got a job and things just went crazy... So with that being said, I did manage to get this next set 'OUT OF THE BOX"...

I know I just spilled the beans for my friend, but it's in the mail soon...LOL..Anyway with that here is the file we were given to work with...

So I took these stamps and learned how to color them with my computer software, that took some time, but I did it. I like what it did, anyway after many attempts of coloring these stamps (which I hope I did it right ) .LOL.. I reversed the image and this is what I got!!

This just 1 of the many stamps that come in this kit, to color just the way you like it.

I think this is "OUT OF THE BOX' kind of project, what do you think?

It's MONDAY !!!!

Let's start the day off right !!!

Ok, so I have been a bit quiet lately, so sorry, I have just had so much going on (like most of us do) but my doctors are changing my medications and that is always so hard on anybody, but its really had when you have to fight with your insurance companies to pay for med's that you doctor orders, and if find that it is not working they way it was intended too....'whatever' has become my attitude lately. I just can put up the fight and work full time and keep up with my crafts.

I again learning how to use

I like how this turned out,

It took a few tries on the

size but once I got is rolling

OMG !!! did it get rolling

I think I am going to make them for my

daughters class room, oh and maybe for

my few tricker~or~treater we get in my

neighborhood !!! LOL

We did at one time in our lives, get really

into the Halloween spirit, I can remember the year that we had our big picture window with rear projecting on so that the kids would come to our house to watch them move and stay, the older kids liked it too, cuz the little kids did not get the candy, they did... But now that we live in a different house we don't get that many, besides our kidos are just at the age that they would rather go with their friends, then be home handing out candy with mom and or dad...

Well, back to crafting...

I am sure you will find some good uses for this great set !!!

I used some plain white card stock from the must have pile of papers, I printed the digi stamps on the paper and cut them to the width that I was looking for, I found the center of the page and went back 1/2 in and scored then the other way from center and scored, giving a 1 inch flat bottom. I used a topper from SVGCUTS.com cut it to width and length I needed. I used a baggy to fill and put a crop-a-dile to work and make a couple of holes to put the ribbon/fibers through...and there you have it!! a Treat Bag....

Arizona State Fair !!!

So, as you all know by now, I did really good in the open class crafts at the Navajo County Fair this last week. Well I was chatting with my old hair dresser, who happens to be 'over' the open class division, and she suggested that I send some of my items to the State Fair ???? OMG
Can you even believe this? Please someone come pinch me (oh the bills are here so not worries about pinching me... No, really for my first time EVER entering anything in to competition, other than the SVGCUTS.com forum and maybe some Design Team Projects, but this.... WOW ... I am really having a hard time thinking that my work is 'good enough' for the State Level... well so I forwarded 4 of my projects...

Should I tell you or should I make this a guessing game for the whapp'n 40 followers and/or visitors? I just think this could be fun to see what people thought of my paper crafting... so with that.

So if you choose to leave me a comment as to what projects I sent to the Arizona State Fair,

then I will find some blog candy to put together and send it your way.

So you will need to pick 4 of the 9 Items or maybe it was 10 items,

anyway and leave a comment, with an email for web/blog address or something that I can let you know if you got it right!!!!

This morning about 7:30 my daughter opens my bedroom door and asks "Isn't Monday? Cuz it's 7:30 and we have to leave for the bus in like....NOW....so needless to day, I have played catch up ALL day... even though I was not technically late for work, just scatter brained all day... You have got to know what I am talking about...? so with all the Fair stuff out of my hands, I hope to get some R&R for a few days, well til next Monday....Look for the Design Team Challenge...I'll give you a hint...it's a bout the holiday coming up...

MyGrafico Feature File for Sept.19

Hey everyone, I hope your weekend was great !!! As you can see in the prior posts, I had an AWESOME weekend. With the County Fair behind me, and looking at putting a couple of my entries to the Arizona State Fair, life is good and a bit crazy !!! I am not sure that I would have it any other way, ok maybe some changes, but for the most part I have it pretty good ...

Well between the fair and blog posting and family, I still made the time to complete this weeks Design Team Feature file for MyGrafico ...

Late Summer Dress Up Girls by Znowflake Design

24 Graphics to mix and match so you can create multiple combinations...the options are just about endless !!!

I just love the colors of the dresses, and the 'bling' is just out right fun !!

Now for what I made from this group of graphics ...

Paper used is AC Patterned Paper "Teen"
Scrap from the stash, a piece of black card stock
& a pearl accent from Michael's Recollections collection

I will admit that my scissors were dusted off to cut these girls. I worked so many hours on trying to get Inkscape to create an svg so that I could use my cutter & SCAL, but I think if I would have dusted the scissors off sooner this project would have been done in a flash...

Lesson learned, don't be afraid to go back in time and use the handy old fashion cutting tool, scissors !!!! lol

This also adds to my 'need' of a different cutter, The Black Cat Cougar, pennies have to add up before I get to dive into this 'need' !! hee hee

I would love to hear what you think of this project. I will say that digital images are fairly new to me, so I am pretty excited to make a creation from them. There is defiantly a learning curve, and this gives a different, new look to my paper crafting craze.

The Navajo County Fair is Coming to an end

Alright, this maybe a long post with lots of pictures, but I think its time to spill the beans (as they say).
The final results of all the projects I entered. I just hope I got good pictures...You will find that a lot of the projects are ones that I have posted before ...The Halloween project/table top holiday decor was made just for a fair entry, as I have NEVER EVER entered anything in a contest or fair or any such things/places.
So with that being said :

Aug. 7, 2011, I posted the Big 3D letter "W" along with the crackers - filled with rice

(in tradition for the Bride & Groom to exit the wedding affairs)

I also entered this project in the SVGCUTS.com forum July Challenge 'It's A Nice Day for a White Wedding

Do you remember the School Day SVG Kit by SVGCUTS.com?

Yeah I made the little school house into a White Chapel....I put them together Making

A wedding decor center piece entry at the fair.....

I am so excited about this I can hardly keep the tears from rolling down my face.

I was just struck with excitement.

It was crazy to enter these small projects, something I love to do and actually be recognized and received ribbons like this... OMG ... did they judge it right? did someone swap ribbons? there is no way that MY hobby/projects could ever be worthy of any kind of recognition.

I just thought I would enter my paper crafts just for people to see my creations, something that I have such a passion for.....

So for the last few projects that were entered

This little Cottage is so versatile, I have used it as a little summer cottage
& a haunted looking house and now its a all included "package deal"
Its got the box for a table top Ginger Bread House Lantern (with a battery operated tea light, then a cookie mix and a cookie cutter with some decorations to go on the cookies, this will make a great home made gift as a gift !!!

Oh, do you see what the judges thought of this one?

Now for what you have all been waiting for..... What did you get on the Halloween Decor?

I used a bunch of different files from using a 3D tree from an unknown source, a fence who knows were, I mad the tombstones myself, and the Peony Cottage SVG kit from SVGCUTS.com & the Elmhurst Hollow SVG Kit from SVGCUTS.com (this is the newest kit that was just released days before I had to turn the entire project over to the fair)

The only ribbon that is bigger than what I got in all of my entries

So that's it...I think that's plenty....

I went back to the fair again today to help my local Stamp'n up Rep. She had some 'make and takes', she asked a few of us to volunteer teaching new techniques, new ideas and just be an all around people person to help keep on top of things ....

This when I had a chance to chat with the gal that works on the Fair Board for the Open Class division.

She said that some of my work that I entered is certainly State Fair Quality !!!

So now is the time for me to pass-out, someone please pinch me, I must be dreaming !!!

With that being said, I go tomorrow (Sunday) in the early evening to collect my projects and ribbons...

But at this time...if I want, I can hand over any projects that I would like to send to the Arizona State Fair.

You have to understand a miner detail in this; it is that the State Fair is held in Phoenix, AZ

and that's a 3 hour drive (each way) to enter my projects there... but from what I understand the State Fair board has someone come pick all the items that would like to go to the state level. The projects are gone for about 5 ~ 6 weeks, but what am I going to do with these right now anyway?

to this gal that will add it to the State Fair transport and when it's all said and done, its $2.00 per entry... so why not?

A little while back, I had posted this altered project that my 2nd dad and I created, What can you do with
an OLD lamp shade, some left over CPVC pipe, a threaded rod, some paint, and some wood for a base (heavy enough, as to not letting it fall over when the cat plays with your stuff) Oh yeah, got to add the RED pin strip down the center.

Well it's a homemade 'Clip-It-Up' for ALOT less cost and way more fun....And most of all, it recycles old not used stuff for something new and exciting to help (well try to) our landfills and get better organized all with one simple project ! and see what I really have !!! It's crazy the things that I keep finding to put on in... But I found one of the best things for it....

That's the BLUE ribbon (1st Place) for the open class recycle...I like to call it Altered Projects or Up-cycled...
Well here is a picture of the great guy that helped me put it together and if you look close the Judges pined a ribbon.... It keeps going, and going, and going..

Getting really tired, it's late Friday night, I have my DT project for MyGrafico to post Monday, in the works... I am a bit behind with all the happenings that life keeps happening... so anyway ... I hope to get the rest of the projects posted and their results before I have to pick them up on Sunday , to bring home those RIBBONS !!!

OK, so I am sooo busy, but I wanted to show you just a little bit of the other entries and what I got for them!!!
So next up is......
This is a '1 page' (lol) scrapbook layout for Christmas !!!! It's really a shutter fly protective sleeve, its way cool, I bought them thinking it was something else, oopps, and now I realize I really like the look/layout!!!

This is also a '1' page scrapbook layout, for vacation, this is part of my Disneyland trip last December, we just could not go to Disneyland without going to the beach, Huntington Beach, we love to take pictures and see who will go out in the ocean the furthest, and it was COLD!! but Josh, Alex and Sierra got up to their necks in it, with the splashing of the waves!!! oh what fun!!

County Fair

So, I am back with some more results of the county fair projects...

2nd Place Ribbon for 1 page scrapbook layout- Family Fun!!

So you see I got this 2nd Place on this on...it was listed as '1 page scrapbook layout'.... so does it count that I made a 12 x 24 page layout ? lol I was really surprised that this one was not disqualified... but I am VERY excited that I got a ribbon, and 2nd place to boot !! OMG WOW this brought tears to my eyes !!!!

Not a good picture but this is my 3D paper crafting attempt!!

You can see that this also has a 2nd place red ribbon .. OMG (again) !!! I am just crazy amazed that someone thinks I have talent ??? I just don't see it in my projects , but this has helped me realize that I just might have some kind of talent, its just not as good as others, but its good !!! Mind you I have been paper crafting for about a year now, once my hubby got me my 1st Cricut Expression and I then found SCAL ... that's where the craze started !!!
I have done some scrap booking since grade school remember the plastic covered sticky pages that ruin your photos, yeah that's the stuff that got me started , (oh and I am almost 40 now) so that's a few years ... then as I started into the real 'scrapbooking' and put more to 8 1/2 x 11 pages ... Then in 2003 I graduated to 12 x 12 pages ... well that's been fun but it did not last too long, well I keep trying to do it but, but , but what about 3D kinds of things... Then with my Expression and SCAL came SVGCUTS.com - Mary and Leo are my hero's.... they have kept me going... so anyway .....

More photos to follow, but I have to go back to the Fair to get more and better pictures to share, oh and to be sure of what I won !!!

County Fair

Ok so I entered 9 items in the Navajo County Fair in the 'open class'... I think most of you know that by now, the judging was on Tuesday night, and the Fair opened yesterday 09/14/2011. So I don't have a lot of time to tell you all .... so here is a picture of the entire Halloween Decor thing looked.

I took pictures last night but the power went out before was done editing the photos to post here. so..

I will post more about it later today, I hope....going back to the fair tonight to get some pictures of the rest of the stuff I did ....

This weeks MyGrafico file!!! It's a MUST see

Hey everyone, it's another week, and OMG I can't believe it? WOW, time is flying by. Working on my Fair projects, has consumed WAY too much time...but I have never entered anything in a county fair before, so I want so make this a ' WOW ' kind of thing.

Anyway, this weeks project/challenge entry is all about Rocky Mini Golf by Riefka Design.

So I just had to use the cutter someway or another and I thought long and hard about this, 'what can I do with this file ? ' .....

Then it came to me, we all like blue ribbons, and golfers can't be much different, well maybe they can, but anyway... I used some white textured card stock to print the image on. Then made this paper rosette and cut a few circles and made some 'ribbon' streamers, and there you have it...nothing too special but its a good place to start, right ?

This is nothing really special, but I think when that 1st place golfer gets this Blue Ribbon, I can bet they will feel special...

Here comes the Bride!

Good Monday morning,

OK so it's Monday, but I am not sure it's 'Good' lol, but this means I have a MyGrafico Design Team project to share with you. If you follow my blog much, you know that I am an .svg attic. This week was a change for me, as I went outside the circle in that I dove into the digital stamp community.

This weeks feature file is :

MyGrafico - Beautiful Bride Set

I used this file to create a book,

A To Do List for the I Do Bride

Using a different Bride for each page and adding some lines, and there you have a page of a book (I know if I don't have lines on a page, OMG do I get carried away with doodle art)

I dusted off my BIA (bind it all) and used a 1/2 inch owire to bind it. Added some ribbon to the binding to give it the 'homemade' touch. And there you have a book for that special time in a woman's life.

So what do you think of my attempt on using a digital stamp?

and don't think I did not use my cutter,

is there any other way to cut things these days?

Oh yeah maybe, I think they call it scissors? heehee

Happy Monday everyone :)

I have be selected to be a design team member for MyGrafico!!!! I am so excited to become a new member of this cool team... This request for new dt members was to think out side of the box, so I don't think you will be seeing many cards here....

My for DT for MyGrafico Crafts project is from the Dilek Back to School.

I created :

a gift tag with one file

a gift box (perfect for a box a crayons)

'homemade' crayons box...

These files were great to work with.!!! I used a few different techniques to create each of these projects.

I printed the clip art on paper then used my cutter to cut the box I also took some of the files and made them into an .svg as to use the cutter to cut them out. I also made sure to use lots of layers and dimensions tape to give it even more eye popping.

I hope you enjoyed this first of many projects to come for the Design Team for MyGrafico Challenge and Feature Files ... I will be posting something for MyGrafico Design Team each Monday, and I will be posting other projects too, but this gives you a plan to check back each Happy Monday...!(at least)...
